It’s all about glamour, highlights, influencing and self-presentation. “Glow by dm” is the largest beauty fair in Europe. It’s not only for instagrammable photos that you need perfect lighting at the best angles and one or another (beauty) hack to optimize the results – the same applies to technical equipment and implementation for a major event. We would never have imagined how similar the beauty and event technology industries are in some respects.

23,000 square meters of event space in 8 halls at STATION-Berlin were equipped with technology arriving in 10 semi-trailer trucks, each carrying 10 – 12 tons of material – covering everything from lighting to audio to media technology, plus rigging and more.

This included the sustainable exhibition construction system for the stages and meter-long photo walls, as well as some special constructions from our carpentry department. We were additionally allowed to design, plan and implement some of the exhibition booths – among others, for Manhatten, Perfume Lovers, Six and Stefanie Giesinger.

It all starts with a cool idea, followed by the search for the right implementation. A confetti box should be part of the show. But how do you make the confetti fly? Here we show how: with a beMatrix special construction, a thermal calculation, the installation of two screw fans, opening the roof and regulating the correct wind force.

Then there were 30 seconds for participants to find a particular piece of jewelry in the confetti storm. At the end, a horn sounds, the wind dies down and the door unlocks automatically. If the right jewelry has been found, a prize was awarded.
