Celebrating six decades of football, identity and community.

To mark its 60th anniversary, 1. FC Union Berlin brought together thousands of supporters at the club’s iconic Stadion An der Alten Försterei for a large-scale celebration honouring the club’s history and unique culture.

For this special event, we delivered the complete technical production within a temporary 85 × 60 metre event structure, installed during the narrow turnaround window between two Bundesliga home matches.

A key engineering challenge was the 25-metre span between the tent masts, requiring a carefully planned rigging concept. The installation incorporated approximately 450 metres of truss, including a prominent 9-metre truss ring that formed a central element of the production design.

The lighting package comprised more than 160 moving lights, LED fixtures and floodlights, while approximately 80 loudspeakers in main, delay and front-fill configurations ensured consistent audio coverage throughout the venue. Redundant backup systems were integrated across critical signal paths to maximise operational reliability.

For the visual content delivery, multiple 30,000- and 20,000-lumen projectors were used to create large-format soft-edge projections across both the tent structure and ceiling. Video feeds from five cameras were centrally managed and distributed throughout the production.

Delivered within a tightly defined timeframe and a highly demanding logistical environment, the project combined engineering precision, scalable production infrastructure and flawless execution for a milestone event in the club’s history.
